  • ISO 9712: This is the international standard for the qualification and certification of NDT personnel for NDT testing.

Additional certifications and standards

  • EN 1090-1: Certification for structural components, ensuring compliance with European standards for fabrication and assembly.
  • EN 14122-3: Specifies safety guidelines for railings, enhancing safety for all who interact with our structures.
  • TUV Nord: A testament to our commitment to excellence in design, manufacturing, and quality management. Read more about our TÜV certification here.

Europen welding certifications and standards

  • All Welding: Welding is carried out exclusively by certified welding technologists/welding engineers at the European level, in accordance with the standards set by the European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF).

Commitment to exceptional performance

In addition to these certifications, we have successfully completed the Dutch “Glasparel-slingerproef” (Sandbag Swing Test) for the Variogate. This accomplishment highlights our dedication to delivering products that offer outstanding performance and durability over time.

These certifications are a testament to our relentless dedication to providing high-quality solutions that meet the most rigorous industry standards.

Variogate’s international standards for strength and structural integrity tests

Variogate’s automated strength calculations provide an essential preliminary assessment of the structure’s performance, serving as an initial evaluation before the extensive TÜV tests. These calculations offer valuable insights into the structural strengths of Variogates, based on internationally recognized engineering standards. These standards, including API RP 2A, ISO 19902, Norsok N004, DIN 15018, FEM 1.001, and Eurocode 3, ensure the precision and reliability of the assessment.

EN-1990-1-1

EN 1990-1-1 is a European standard that sets out the fundamental principles for the design of structures. It focuses on ensuring their safety, functionality, and durability, providing a framework for structural design and assessment. This standard is integral in establishing the requirements for the stability and performance of buildings and civil engineering works, while also addressing concerns such as serviceability and long-term reliability.

ISO 14122

ISO 14122 is an international standard that provides guidelines for the safety requirements of permanent access ways to machinery. It focuses on ensuring safe access for maintenance, operation, and inspection of machinery, particularly in industrial settings. The standard covers aspects such as design, construction, and installation of access points, ladders, stairs, and platforms, emphasizing the need for both safety and usability in these systems.

API RP 2A (American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice 2A)

API RP 2A is a guideline for the design, construction, and installation of offshore platforms and maritime structures, focusing on the safety, reliability, and structural integrity of offshore oil and gas production installations. Variogate’s automated strength calculations adhere to these high standards to ensure a robust structural design.

ISO 19902 (Offshore structures – Fixed steel offshore structures)

ISO 19902 is an international standard that outlines the requirements for the design, construction, and safety of fixed steel offshore structures, such as oil and gas platforms. By following this standard, Variogate ensures its structures meet the safety and performance requirements for offshore environments.

Norsok N004 (Norsok standard for design of steel structures)

The Norsok N004 standard offers guidelines for designing and constructing steel structures for offshore and onshore installations in the oil and gas industry. It covers aspects like material properties, load requirements, and design considerations, all of which are integrated into Variogate’s strength calculations.

DIN 15018 (German standard for cranes – design and safety)

DIN 15018 is a German standard that specifies the design and safety requirements for crane systems, including mobile cranes and overhead cranes. It addresses calculations for loads, stability, and crane safety, which Variogate applies to ensure its structures can handle dynamic forces in demanding environments.

FEM 1.001 (Fédération Européenne de la Manutention – General design rules for steel structures in lifting applications)

FEM 1.001 provides general design guidelines for steel structures used in lifting and transportation applications, such as cranes and hoisting systems. Variogate incorporates these European guidelines to ensure that its steel structures meet the required strength and safety standards in lifting operations.

Eurocode 3 (Design of steel structures – EN 1993)

Eurocode 3 is part of the European construction regulations (Eurocodes) that set the design requirements for steel structures. It includes guidelines on structural safety, material requirements, load specifications, and calculation methods for steel constructions used in buildings and industrial installations. Variogate’s automated strength calculations are fully compliant with these European standards.

By aligning its automated strength calculations with these internationally recognized engineering standards, Variogate ensures that its structures maintain the highest levels of safety, reliability, and performance, both in preliminary assessments and through the subsequent TÜV testing.
